I started to switch my personal closet and gear closet from winter to summer this week-mostly in the hopes that the actual weather would follow suit. While the forecast here in Chamonix looks grim for the foreseeable future, there was a silver lining that came from exploding my entire closet and the two storage boxes of summer clothes onto the bed; I was reminded of all the gems.
My closets have gone through a series of serious edits and culls after the passing of my partner and moving to Austria and then France. Editing always feels good to me. There truly aren’t too many pieces I have any regrets about giving away. And equally so, there are so many pieces that have stood the test of time. That have traveled along with me. That had even gone on their own adventures with my mom or her mom before ending up in my closet.
So this week’s post is an ode to what I already have. And most likely what you already have too! Inspired by
own “old faithful” post. It’s a post that puts my shopping urges in check. A post that has me digging in delight through my own closet for spring/summer inspiration. A post that gave me a good laugh when searching for the “historical” photos to go with each piece.
