Thanks for your patience this week! It’s been a busy few days with a combination of multiple travels and a week away from screens on a Ayurvedic/meditation retreat. I’m now writing from the Dolomites where my mom and I stopped on our loop from Chamonix-Normandy-Austria-Italy and back to Chamonix. I’m feeling awfully lucky to spend so much quality time with my mom, and see friends and family in Normandy and Innsbruck.
My hope for this post was to capture all the Italian street style I could. Italians really, really know how to dress. Unfortunately, it’s been non stop raining and the streets are empty. So instead this is a post about what I packed and what I wish I packed. And the gems I got along the way-assisted greatly by a kind Italian store clerk.
This 15ish day trip involved a 90th birthday party in wet Normandy, 1 week meditating and not doing sports, 3 days in Austria climbing and hiking and 3 days in Italy largely hibernating indoors. The weather was wet everywhere and between 35-45 degrees F. I packed rather last minute and despite a lengthy history of living out of a suitcase, I still haven’t mastered my packing.
I brought:
One black turtleneck sweater, one white polo sweater, one blue v-neck sweater, one short sleeve black sweater, one sweater vest, one short sleeve cardigan sweater
One pair of black jeans, one pair of stiff blue jeans, one pair of lasso pants, one skirt
2 grey sweatshirts, 1 velvet sweatpants, 1 light pajama pant
One black, one gray, one tie-died, and one white tshirt. One striped rugby shirt
One gray puff sleeve jean shirt, one ruffled collared silk tank
Black North Face yoga pants, Black North Face climbing pants, One North Face 1/2 zip fleece, 2 cotton North Face tshirts, one pair of shorts
One cropped wool jacket
White North Face fleece, Yellow North Face Rain Parka, One North Face Down Jacket, One North Face goretex hiking jacket
One silk scarf, one sweater scarf, brown belt, black belt
Black moto boots, black heeled boots, flat brown shoes, brown sneakers, running shoes
